UN-GGIM-AP International Conference 2024

The United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Asia and the Pacific (UN-GGIM-AP) will host its regional conference at the Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition and Convention Centre, New Delhi, India, from 26th-29th November 2024. Organized by the Government of India through the Survey of India (SoI), the event will focus on the theme: “Geo-enabling Data Economy for Sustainable Development.”

This conference will explore the critical role of geospatial data in driving the global digital economy, offering a platform for experts, researchers, and industry leaders from the Asia-Pacific region to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and deliberate on key issues. The event will also highlight the importance of international cooperation in achieving the three pillars of sustainable development for a shared and equitable global future.

The three pillars of sustainable development are environmental, economic, and social.

  • Environmental: Includes air quality, clean water, and biodiversity.
  • Economic: Includes the natural resources that can promote economic sustainability, such as wood, water, stone, agricultural crops, and fossil fuels.
  • Social: Includes social inclusion and ensuring the well-being of individuals and societies.

  • 13th UN-GGIM-AP Plenary Meeting – The centerpiece of the conference.
  • Day 1 Sessions: Focused on Cadastral & Land Management and the Integration of Geospatial & Statistical Information.
  • Day 2 Workshops: Covering the Sustainable Operation of GNSS-CORS Network and a seminar on IGIF Implementation to strengthen integrated geospatial information management.

The conference will also offer a collaboration platform for government and private industry through the Private Sector Network (PSN), fostering knowledge exchange and capacity building for the global geospatial community.
